history
The judicial district of Oberpullendorf was part of the Transleithan half of the empire and part of the Kingdom of Hungary until the end of the First World War . Oberpullendorf served as the seat of a chair judge in Ödenburg County . After the First World War , Burgenland (previously German West Hungary ) was added to Austria in the Treaty of Saint-Germain in 1919 ; Hungary had to commit to ceding it in the Treaty of Trianon in 1920. On December 5, 1921, Burgenland was officially handed over from Hungary to Austria, whereupon today's court and district administration was introduced. Oberpullendorf also became the seat of the district administration and the district court of Oberpullendorf. The Oberpullendorf judicial district subsequently remained congruent with the political district.
