Oberloisdorf ( Hungarian : Felsőlászló , Croatian : Nadrloštrof ) is a municipality in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland in Austria with 794 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

geography

The community is located in Central Burgenland in the Rabnitz Valley . The landscape around the young community is characterized by forests, hills and fields. Oberloisdorf is the only place in the municipality.

history

Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic Kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the surroundings of the Celtic hill settlement Burg on the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg .

Later under the Romans, today's Oberloisdorf was then in the province of Pannonia .

Like all of Burgenland, the place belonged to Hungary (German-West Hungary) until 1920/21 . Since 1898 had due to the Magyarization of the government in Budapest of Hungarian name Felsölászlo be used. After the end of the First World War , after tough negotiations, German-West Hungary was awarded to Austria in the Treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919. The place has belonged to the newly founded federal state of Burgenland since 1921 (see also the history of Burgenland ).

Economy and Infrastructure

The tracks of the former Burgenland Railway , a branch line, end in Oberloisdorf. Since the end of operations in December 2013 from Deutschkreuz , the rail connection has been suspended.

Parish council

In addition to Mayor Manfred Jestl (ÖVP) and Deputy Mayor Rudolf Bauer (SPÖ), the executive councils Wolfgang Haslehner (ÖVP), Martin Schedl (ÖVP) and Richard Schrammel (ÖVP) also belong to the community board.

Doris Birner (ÖVP) was elected as the community treasurer and Georg Schedl (ÖVP) was elected to the environmental council.

mayor

Mayor is Manfred Jestl (ÖVP). He prevailed in the 2007 election with 53.31% over Walter Schlögl (SPÖ), who until then had headed the community. In the direct mayor election on October 1, 2017, Jestl prevailed with 70.70% over his competitor Rudolf Bauer (SPÖ), who achieved 29.30%, and was thus confirmed in his office for another five years. In the constituent meeting of the municipal council, Bauer was elected deputy mayor.

Head of office is Gerda Korner.
