Rudolf Handmann

Rudolf Handmann (born August 6, 1841 in Nussdorf near Vienna; † January 7, 1929 in St. Andrä im Lavanttal ) was an Austrian Jesuit and scientist.

Life

Handmann studied from 1864 to 1869 at the College of the Jesuit Order in Pressburg and at the University of Innsbruck philosophy and theology. Hartmann worked for his order in different places. From 1882 to 1884 and from 1886 to 1889 he was at the Kollegium in Vienna-Kalksburg , where he also taught some natural history, and from 1899 to 1926 at the Kollegium Aloisianum on the Freinberg near Linz as curator of the Natural Science Cabinet.

Handmann wrote numerous scientific, popular scientific and theological works, including translations of books from other languages.
