Rudolf Horn (politician)

Rudolf Horn (born March 29, 1878 in Leimen ; † April 6, 1939 ) was a German educator and politician ( DVP ).

Life

After graduating from high school, Horn studied chemistry from 1896 to 1900 at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . He received a pedagogical training, received his doctorate and worked until 1932 as a professor at the Heidelberg girls' secondary school . He had taken part in the First World War as a soldier. From 1932 until his discharge at the end of 1933, he worked as a headmaster at a secondary school in Emmendingen . Due to the Jewish origins of his wife, he was forced into retirement in 1937.

Horn joined the DVP during the Weimar Republic . In October 1929 he was elected as a member of the state parliament of the Republic of Baden , of which he was a member until 1933. He was the secretary of parliament.

Rudolf Horn had been married to Claire Cantor (1873–1951), daughter of Heidelberg mathematics professor Moritz Cantor , since 1904 , and had one son.

Rudolf Horn was a member of the Heidelberg Masonic Lodge Ruprecht zu den five Rosen and from 1920-1926 and 1929-1933 its master of the chair .
