Rudolf Peter Hrbek (* 23. September 1938 in Prague ) is emeritus professor of political science at the University of Tübingen .

Life

He studied political science, history and English literature in Tübingen and Munich and received his doctorate in 1968 . The Habilitation took place in 1973. Since 1976 he was a full professor of political science at the University of Tuebingen. He retired in 2006. He was a permanent visiting professor at the College of Europe in Bruges , Belgium, and he held other visiting professorships in the United States, Thailand and Italy.

His research focused on the political systems of the states of Western Europe, federalism , political parties, European integration and the politics of the European Union .
