Rudolf Jürschik (born November 15, 1935 in Böhmisch Leipa , Czechoslovakia ) is a former German film producer and chief dramaturge of the DEFA feature film studio in the GDR .

Life

Rudolf Jürschik comes from a working-class family. In 1946 the family moved to Eilsleben (Börde). There he attended elementary school until 1950. In 1954 he graduated from the OS Haldensleben . In 1954/55 he began studying at the University of Rostock at the shipbuilding faculty .

In 1955/56 he moved to the VEB DEFA studio for feature films in Potsdam-Babelsberg as a stage worker and assistant recording director . From 1956 to 1960 Rudolf Jürschik studied at the German Academy for Film Art Potsdam-Babelsberg, specializing in film production. In 1960 he graduated with a diploma. From 1960 to 1963 he worked there as an assistant / senior assistant specializing in aesthetics / film studies. From 1963 to 1966 he completed a further degree in social sciences at the party college "Karl Marx" (PHS) with a diploma in 1966. From 1966 to 1969 he was an aspirant at the PHS with a doctorate to become a Dr. phil. with a dissertation on the specifics of film art under the philosophical aspect of the subject-object dialectic.

In 1969 he was appointed university lecturer in the field of cultural theory, aesthetics and film theory. In 1974 he was appointed professor . He was then appointed deputy head of the chair for cultural policy at the PHS. In May 1977 he was appointed chief dramaturge at DEFA studios for feature films (as successor to Günter Schröder ). From autumn 1989 to March 1991 Rudolf Jürschik was the artistic director.

Since the development of the entire artistic area of ​​the DEFA studio, Rudolf Jürschik had publications in specialist journals on aesthetic and film-related issues.
