Rudolf Marchner

Rudolf Marchner (born April 15, 1893 in Rottenmann ; † September 3, 1980 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and magistrate official. From 1945 to 1959 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

After primary school, Marchner attended three classes at a commercial advanced training school and learned the trade of machine fitter . He worked professionally as a foreman and later worked as an office manager in the city of Graz. He was politically active between 1924 and 1934 as chairman of the regional association and the Graz local branch of the Austrian Tenants' Association in Styria and from 1930 to 1934 as a councilor in Graz. After the Second World War he represented the Social Democratic Party between December 19, 1945 and June 9, 1959 in the National Council and from 1947 was chairman of the Austrian tenants' association.
