Rudolf Martin Argus

Rudolf Martin Argus (born December 17, 1888 in Reudnitz ; † January 16, 1969 in Siegen ) was a German politician and from 1921 to 1927 for the KPD a member of the Bremen citizenship .

Life

Rudolf Martin Argus, originally from Thuringia , moved to Bremen in 1912 after completing his teacher training and became a primary school teacher . After his involvement with Bremen's left-wing radicals, Argus became a founding member of the KPD in 1918 and was a member of the party's northwest district leadership. In 1921 Argus was elected to the Bremen citizenship for the KPD and was re-elected in November 1923 and December 1924. Argus was the KPD's most important speaker in the Bremen state parliament at the time. In 1927 Argus left the citizenry, gave up his party offices and worked again as a teacher. After the transfer of power to the National Socialists in 1933, Argus joined the SA . In 1941 he retired and first moved to Füssen in the Allgäu and later to the Rhineland . After the war ended, Argus lived in Siegen and was no longer politically active. Rudolf Argus died in 1969.
