Rudolf Schricker

Rudolf Schricker (* 1955 in Marktredwitz ) is a German interior architect , designer, university professor and publicist.

Life

Schricker studied interior architecture and design from 1977 to 1982 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart with a degree in engineering. Since 1984 he has been working as a freelance interior architect and designer . From 1987 to 1993 he ran a joint planning office S + H Interior Design with Wolfgang Henning. Since 1991 he has run a planning studio in Stuttgart and since 2000 creative consulting and research.

From 1983 to 1994 he was a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and at the University of Technology. In 1993 Rudolf Schricker was appointed professor in the design and interior architecture department at the University of Wismar . After his second appointment in 2002, he worked as a university lecturer and mentor at the Coburg University of Applied Sciences in the design faculty and was responsible for “designing and constructing interior architecture”. His subjects are "Design + Human Knowledge", "Reflection + Vision", "Management + Responsibility", "Practice-Oriented Projects". Since summer semester 2011 he has also worked as a professor and mentor in the master’s program in design for the subject “Human Space”. Schricker is the author of articles in professional journals and magazines in the field of design / interior architecture / therapy.

Memberships and chairs

From 1991 to 2007, Schricker was Vice President of the Association of German Interior Architects (BDIA) and State Chairman of the BDIA in Baden-Württemberg. From 2007 to 2011 he was President of the Association of German Interior Architects (BDIA). From 2011 to 2015 he was again responsible as Vice President of the BDIA. Four times a year Rudolf Schricker published the BDIA IMPULSE in his responsibility in the BDIA, which were published quarterly in the AIT from 1993 to 2016.

Since 1998 Schricker has also been working as an expert and peer at various accreditation agencies. He is also the founder and chairman of the association “Mensch & Raum, Design & Forschung”. Every year he organizes international exchanges, in particular between German and Turkish interior design students, interior designers and designers in Istanbul. These working weeks at Turkish universities are recorded in documentary films. Rudolf Schricker was a member of the jury for the IF design award 2010 and 2011. In 2012 and 2015, Rudolf Schricker was a juror for the Red Dot Award. Rudolf Schricker is appointed to the 2012 Convention of the Federal Building Culture Foundation.

In 2012, Prof. Schricker founded the did - german institute interior architecture + design, based in Stuttgart and Coburg. The did basically develops innovative concepts and is dedicated to qualification and further training in interior design.
