Rudolf Sedlmayer

Rudolf Sedlmayer (born August 11, 1905 in Munich ; † 1974 ) was a German sports official.

Life

Sedlmayer graduated from the Academy for Applied Technology in 1927 and was retired as a Technical Federal Railway Authority. From 1955 to 1973 he was President of the Bavarian State Sports Association , of which he had been a founding member since 1945, and since 1967 a member of the board of Deutsche Sporthilfe . He was a member of the organizing committee for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. In 1967 he wrote the book " Olympiastadt 1972 - Bavaria's athletes have their say" (Munich, Münchner Leben, 1967)

Honor

In honor Sedlmayr the Olympic basketball hall in Munich in Rudi-Sedlmayer hall was renamed after his death, officially since 2011 Audi Dome is, however, still bears the name by name. There is a bust of Sedlmayer in her foyer.
