Rudolf Tirnthal

Rudolf Tirnthal (born March 11, 1925 in Mürzzuschlag ; † February 3, 1991 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and industrial employee. Tirnthal was 1970-1979 member of the Bundesrat and 1979-1986 Member of the National Council .

Life

After compulsory school, Tirnthal attended a secondary school, which he graduated from in 1943 with the Matura. He studied chemistry for four semesters at the University of Graz and worked as an industrial employee, master craftsman and deputy operations manager. In addition, he was works council chairman for employees and central works council of the United Edelstahlwerke AG in Mürzzuschlag and worked within the party as SPÖ district chairman deputy and chairman of the city organization of the SPÖ Mürzzuschlag. He was also a councilor and parliamentary group chairman in Mürzzuschlag. Between May 14, 1970 and May 11, 1979 he represented the SPÖ in the Federal Council, after which he was a member of the National Council from June 5, 1979 to December 16, 1986.
