From January 1898 to June 1899 he was active for Freiburg FC , with which he won the first South German championship; was on January 8, 1899 Karlsruhe of 1. FC Pforzheim with 6: 1 defeat.

In the final round of the South German Championship in 1902 , he was a member of the final team after the 5-1 semi-final win on February 23, 1902 in Karlsruhe over 1. FC Pforzheim on April 6, 1902, 4-0 at 1. Hanau football Club won in 1893 . He achieved this success again and again against the aforementioned club, which was defeated 5-2 on December 7, 1902 in Darmstadt ; the semi-finals played on November 30, 1902 with FC Stuttgarter Cickers ended 7-0. 1904 emerged as the winner from the Gau Mittelbaden , he again took part in the final round of the South German Championship and prevailed with his team in the quarter-finals - albeit only in the replay against the Strasbourg FV - and then in the semifinals against FC Stuttgarter Cickers. On March 27, he won his third title with his club, as FC Germania Frankfurt was relegated 5-0 in the final of the South German Championship. The final game scheduled on March 26, 1905 against the 1. Hanau Football Club 1893 was canceled; Since the Hanau team only played with two players, the referee declared Karlsruhe FV 5-0 the winner.

For the team he was used twice in the final round of the German championship . He made his debut on May 28, 1905 on the Hanau parade ground , where Duisburg SpV was defeated 1-0 in the quarter-finals with a goal scored by Julius Zinser in the 45th minute. With a bye in the semi-finals, he reached the final of the German championship in Weidenpescher Park, which was held in Cologne on June 11, 1905 . But against the BTuFC Union 92 , the master of the Association of Berliner Ballspielvereine , his club lost 2-0.

In 1906 his club had to hand over the championship in Gau Mittelbaden to 1. FC Pforzheim, although they won the season as champions. Heinrich Link, who was only entitled to play for the second team, was used in the first team; thus all games against the team were counted. In 1907 the championship in Gau Mittelbaden was won and the team was qualified in this regard for the finals Südkreis , which, however, won the Freiburg FC .
