Rue Morgue is a Canadian magazine that sees it as its mission tocover the horror genrein all areas of culture and entertainment. The name of the magazine was chosen after the Edgar Allan Poe short story The Murders in the Rue Morgue (German: The double murder in the Rue Morgue ).

Seat

The magazine is based in Toronto , Ontario , Canada . It was in 1997 by the editor ( Editor-in-Chief ) Rodrigo Gudiño founded. The current editor since the December 2009 issue is Dave Alexander. The famous Rue Morgue logo was developed and designed by the magazine's art director, Gary Pullin, and it was first featured on the cover of the seventh issue.

History and sales

Rue Morgue only appeared bimonthly for a number of years. This was changed in January 2005. Since then, except for February, it has been published monthly, i.e. in eleven issues per year. National distribution in Canada has been secured since the fourth edition. In July 1998 sales in the USA were secured and direct sales in Europe have existed since 2006 . Rue Morgue is also available as an import magazine in Australia , New Zealand and Asia . They can also be found in Mexico , Brazil and other parts of South America .

Rue Morgue reports on horror in all mass media: films, books, websites, comics, music, etc. Each issue contains reports, opinion columns and numerous reviews. The online presence includes an award winning weekly internet radio called Rue Morgue Radio . Rue Morgue has grown into an active medium among horror fans and celebrities through both its annual Rue Morgue Festival of Fear in Toronto and its well-known online forum, Rue Mortuary . Its newest venture , Rue Morgue Cinema , premiered at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival and has produced several award-winning short films , including editor-in-chief Rodrigo Gudino's films: The Eyes of Edward James , The Demonology of Desire, and The Facts in the Case of Mister Hollow (with Vincent Marcone ) and the music video In the Dark by The Birthday Massacre , in which Gudino directed together with the band's founder M. Falcore.
