Name origin

Since June 8, 1946, it has been named after the trade unionist Yves Toudic (1901–1944), who was shot by the German occupiers on the national holiday , July 14, 1944, during a demonstration on the Place de la République .

history

This street was established by decree of February 20, 1825 between the streets of Rue de Marseille and Rue de Lancy under the name "Rue Lacasse", the name of the owner when the Canal Saint-Martin was established , with a length of 12 m.

With a decree of February 13, 1856, the street between the Rue du Faubourg – du – Temple and the Rue de la Douane was extended again.

On June 8, 1946, it was named after the trade unionist Yves Toudic (1901–1944).
