main characters

Ichigo Kurosaki

黒 崎 一 護 , Kurosaki Ichigo

Ichigo Kurosaki is the main character and can be easily recognized by his orange hair. He lives with his father Isshin ( 一心 ), who is secretly a Shinigami and was a commander of the Soul Society until twenty years ago, and his two sisters Karin (( ) and Yuzu ( 遊子 ) in Karakura. Since his mother Masaki ( 真 咲 ) died while protecting him from a hollow, he takes his duties as Shinigami deputy very seriously when he receives Rukia's powers. He realizes that while he is not able to protect everyone; however, he wants to save as many people as possible, not just those close to him. This role was intended from the beginning and so the Kanji in his first name can be translated as “defend, protect”, which can be translated as “a person who protects someone”. His zanpakuto is called Zangetsu , whose name he only learns after he has acquired his own shinigami powers ; At the same time, he also received hollow powers, as he was almost hollowfied when he acquired the shinigami powers. In his mind, Ichigo repeatedly fights against his character opposite Hollow Ichigo ( 虚 一 護 , Horō Ichigo ), who wants to take over Ichigo's body. In a place that turns many physical laws upside down, he repeatedly fights with his likeness, who also has exactly the same fighting skills. So he has to defend himself again and again - but may not kill him, as that would also result in his death. One of Ichigo's particular strengths is his enormous growth potential, which is why he becomes one of the best fighters in a very short time. He achieved his bankai, the ultimate release stage of zanpakutō, in just three days, which normally takes decades, and he has mastered his hollowfication in Hueco Mundo in a short period of time . He also masters the final Getsuga Tenshō , the strongest technique of Zangetsu, but he has lost all of his spiritual powers. Because of the remnants of his hollow powers, Ichigo received the full-bringing abilities . Ichigo is also getting his Shinigami powers back thanks to the support of the Shinigami. In the final saga, it is learned that Ichigo also has Quincy powers, as his mother Masaki was a Quincy. This was attacked before his birth by a special hollow that Aizen created from Shinigami souls, and was hollowfied as a result. In order to prevent her soul from collapsing, Isshin had Urahara transform her into half-human to be her opposite aspect and to suppress the hollow. It also turned out that the soul of Zangetsu shown so far is in truth Ichigo's manifested Quincy forces in the form of the 1000 years younger Yhwach and that his inner hollow is his actual Zanpakuto soul. Still Ichigo accepted this and didn't want to lose it either, which is why he had it manifested in a second blade.

Rukia Kuchiki

朽木 ル キ ア , Kuchiki Rukia

Rukia Kuchiki is a Shinigami of the 13th Company who is on patrol in Ichigo's hometown to destroy emerging Hollow. Although she is often very harsh and correct, she has a good heart. In a lovable way she has almost no idea of the modern world, as life in the soul society is more like that of the Edo period . At first she is not even able to figure out how to open a simple juice pack and tries to learn modern Japanese by reading manga. At the beginning of the plot, she usually fights with the magic called Kidō . She later used her sword Sode no Shirayuki (English: wing of white snow), which is considered to be the most beautiful ice-based zanpakutō. Rukia came from a poor district of Rukongai and was left behind as a baby by her older sister Hisana so that she could survive on her own. As a child, Rukia befriends Renji Abarai and his friends, who gradually passed away. So she and Renji decide to join Seireitei, the place where the Shinigami live and work, and then went to the Shinigami Academy. There she was found by Byakuya Kuchiki, the husband of her late sister Hisana, and adopted by him as his sister - this was a promise Byakuya made to his wife on her deathbed. Since then, Rukia and Renji have distanced themselves. By adoption, Rukia was given a post in the 13th Company, where she met her vice-commander and mentor Kaien Shiba, whom she had taken in her heart. During a mission, Kien's body was taken over by the Hollow Metastacia and so Rukia killed her Vice-Commander in self-protection. Through this incident, she blamed herself for Kien's death. During and after the rescue of Rukia, Rukia and Renji become good friends again and the relationship between her and her brother Byakuya becomes a lot stronger. The trigger for the positive effects of the relationships was Ichigo, who defeated both Renji and Byakuya in battle and was able to convince. In the second half of the plot, she returns as Vice-Commander of the 13th Company and gives Ichigo his Shinigami powers back in the same way as the first time.

Orihime Inoue

井上 織 姫 , Inoue Orihime

She is a classmate and friend of Ichigo Kurosaki. Like many of his friends, she developed her own spiritual powers after Ichigo became a Shinigami. The source of her strength are her hair clips, which she only takes off to sleep and wears as a reminder of her brother. With her strength, Shun Shun Rikka, she can summon the six agile flower shields, which control three different shields; Santen Kesshun ( three-sided shield in the manga: reversal shield of the heavenly three ) for defense, Soten Kisshun ( two-sided shield in the manga: return shield of the heavenly two ) for reversing from the injured or destroyed state to the uninjured state and Koten Zanshun ( one-sided shield in the manga: Cutting shield of the heavenly one ) to attack. Orihime has very large breasts, which are the subject of humorous scenes in the series. She's also secretly in love with Ichigo. In the Arrancar Arc she is kidnapped by the Cuatro Espada Ulquiorra Cifer and used as bait by Sōsuke Aizen, so that her friends and four commanders are lured to Hueco Mundo . This creates a profound relationship with Ulquiorra, to whom she can prove the existence of the heart.

Yasutora "Chad" Sado

茶 渡 泰 虎 , Sado Yasutora

Yasutora is a classmate and Ichigo's best friend, with a Mexican appearance. Since Ichigo sees Yasutora's name first on his nameplate and erroneously pronounces the Kanji as Chad - can be read as sa or cha , the o at the end almost mute - he has called him that ever since. He is extremely tall and looks a lot older than he is. He has a tattoo on his left shoulder that reads “Amore y Morte” (Spanish for “love and death”). He has a weakness for small, cute things. He also has spiritual powers, which appear through armor on his right arm, and later also the left arm, whereby he can bundle his spiritual powers. In the second half of the plot it is clarified that his abilities are called full-bringing , which emerges from the fact that one of his parents was previously attacked by a hollow and passed this infection on to him. His arms have the Spanish names Brazo Derecha de Gigante (right arm of the giant) and Brazo Izquirda del Diablo (left arm of the devil). Brazo Derecha de Gigante is the manifestation of Yasutora's defensive powers and Brazo Izquirda del Diablo is the manifestation of his powers of attack and destruction.

Uryu Ishida

石田 雨 竜 , Ishida Uryū

He's the genius, with sewing as a hobby, from Ichigo's school class. In reality he is a Quincy , a descendant of a group of hollow hunters who, like the Shinigami, hunt hollows, with the difference that they eliminate the hollows instead of purifying them and sending them to Soul Society like the Shinigami. He has a deep inner dislike for the Shinigami, including Ichigo. But he changes this attitude in the course of history. So he becomes an ally and a friendly rival. Uryū acts according to the Quincy ethic "Pride of the Quincy" (dt. Pride of the Quincy ), which was conveyed to him by his revered, but already deceased grandfather Sōken ( 宗 弦 ). He is not very close to his father, Ryūken ( 竜 弦 ). Uryu's abilities change a lot in the series. In the beginning he still had the usual Kojaku bow , later the Sanrei glove , with which he reached the limit of his strength. But he takes off the glove during the fight against Mayuri Kurotsuchi and for a short time reaches the strongest form of Quincy: Quincy: last style . However, in doing so he sacrificed his Quincy powers. In the Bount Arc he uses an old Quincy bracelet to be able to use Quincy powers again. In the Arrancar Arc his powers are restored by his father and since then Uryū has been using the special bow Ginrei Kojaku , which shoots 1200 arrows per second. Uryū also has other Quincy weapons. These include Seele Schneider and the Ginto (German silver tubes ). In the final saga, Uryū joins the Vandenreich and is appointed by Yhwach as his successor.

Renji Abarai

阿 散 井 恋 次 , Abarai Renji

Renji Abarai is a Shinigami with the rank of Vice-Commander of the 6th Company, which makes him the second highest in command of a subdivision of the "armed forces". Although he initially follows his obligation and appears as a deadly enemy in the fight for Rukia , he increasingly comes into conflict with his conscience because he has been friends with Rukia since the beginning of his career. He is very bold, but has a lot of respect for the skills of his superior Byakuya, whom he desperately wants to overtake the rank. In addition, he does not agree with his actions, which are strictly based on traditional rules. In battle, Renji always uses his Zanpakuto Zabimaru ( 蛇尾 丸 , English: snake tail). He is also the only vice-commander who also rules over Bankai , which bears the name Hihio Zabimaru .

Kisuke Urahara

浦 原 喜 助 , Urahara Kisuke

Kisuke Urahara is the owner of a shop that sells useful utensils for shinigami. He is reported to be the former commander of the 12th Company and founder of the research division. Kisuke is a very easygoing person who often drives Ichigo and his friends to white heat. Usually he wears a green and white striped hat, a coat and sandals, which earned him the nickname Geta-bōshi ( ゲ タ 帽子 , German "hat and sandals" or "sandal hat"). When it comes down to it, Kisuke can get serious too and proves to be a very strong fighter. According to Aizen, Kisuke has a higher intellect than himself. His zanpakutō is called Benihime (blood red princess).

Shinigami

The Shinigami are soul-based beings whose task it is to transfer the souls of the deceased through a ritual ( 魂 葬 , konsō ) to the Soul Society . As long as the souls of the deceased are still walking on earth, they are easy victims for the Hollows, who, among other things, feed on them. So the Shinigami have made it their business to fight the Hollows. Within the Soul Society , the Shinigami are organized in 13 protection troops, each led by a commander and a vice-commander.

In the past, some of the leaders also resigned or were banned from the Soul Society . One of them is Kisuke Urahara ( 浦 原 喜 助 , Urahara Kisuke ), who used to be the commander of the 12th Company. He now runs a business for all kinds of spiritual things in the human world and helps Ichigo to better control his powers as a Shinigami, so that he can become master of his zanpakutō (the weapon of a Shinigami). In the business work Tessai Tsukabishi ( 握菱テッサイ , Tsukabishi Tessai ), a tall man with an even bigger sense of order and the two children Ururu Tsumugiya ( 紬屋雨 , Tsumugiya Ururu ) and Jinta Hanakari ( 花刈ジン太 , Hanakari Jinta ). Whereby Jinta always picks on the very shy Ururu.

Yoruichi Shihōin ( 四 楓 院 夜 一 , Shihōin Yoruichi ) was once the leader of the "secret police" of the Shinigami and the 2nd Company. She helps Ichigo and his friends get into Soul Society . She initially took on the shape of a cat and was fond of embarrassing Ichigo in transforming her back. Yoruichi is very revealing and becomes the subject of some fan service scenes. She also has a "romantic" relationship, so to speak, with Soi Fon.

Commanders

Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai ( 山 本 元 柳 斎 重 國 , Yamamoto-Genryūsai Shigekuni )
He is the commander in chief of the 13 protective units and commander of the 1st company and teacher of Shunsui Kyōraku and Jūshirō Ukitake. He is a very old man and strictly adheres to the rules of the Soul Society . He is considered the strongest Shinigami of the last millennium and is very muscular despite his old age. Soi Fon ( 砕 蜂 , Suìfēng )
She is the commander of the 2nd Company and a former member of the bodyguard of Yoruichi Shihōin and harbored a huge grudge against them until a fierce argument with her. After her defeat, she forgives Yoruichi for her disappearance without a trace. Your Zanpakutō is called Suzumebachi (German hornet)
Despite everything, if Yoruichi is around, she quickly becomes embarrassed, which often leaves the impression that she wants to establish a Yuri relationship with her . She is very polite and extremely respectful of her former mentor.
Retsu Unohana ( 卯 ノ 花 烈 , Unohana Retsu )
She is the commander of the 4th Company and specializes in healing powers. She is a beautiful and gentle, but very decisive woman, who sometimes has a somewhat morbid and uncanny manner about her, which even silences the brawlers of the 11th Company. Her zanpakutō is called Minazuki . Although she very rarely takes part in fights and her company is the weakest, she is counted among the strongest Shinigami. Her previous name was Yachiru Unohana .
As it turned out later, she was the first to bear the title Kenpachi. Originally she has a very cold and brutal nature, only Zaraki was superior to her, who could then claim the title Kenpachi for himself. After the attack of the Vandenreich, Unohana fought with Zaraki so that he could regain his full strength. In the course of this argument she is killed by him.
Byakuya Kuchiki ( 朽木 白 哉 , Kuchiki Byakuya )
He is the commander of the 6th Company and head of one of the four noble families of the Soul Society. He's a very rational, cool person who has been faithful to the law since his wife Hisana, Rukia's older sister, died. At the request of this, he took Rukia into his family and was supposed to protect her as his own sister. At the same time he swore at his parents' grave that he would never again break the rules of the Soul Society , even if they do not seem (completely) sensible to himself. He feels in Ichigo's guilt because the latter made the decision for him to have to choose again between the law and the heart's desire. His zanpakutō is called Senbonzakura . Millions of razor-sharp cherry blossom fragments attack the enemy when released.
Sajin Komamura ( 狛 村 左 陣 , Komamura Sajin )
He is the commander of the 7th Company, his appearance resembles that of a human-like, gigantic fox. To hide his real appearance, he wore a mask until the fight against Kenpachi Zaraki. He was a good friend of Kaname Tōsen until the day the latter betrayed him and Soul Society. He became Shinigami to pay tribute to Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai, as he was one of the first people (besides Tōsen, who could not see him), who did not reject him because of his appearance. His Zanpakutō is called Tenken , but he almost always fights with the Bankai , the strongest release level of the Zanpakutō.
Shunsui Kyōraku ( 京 楽 春水 , Kyōraku Shunsui )
He is the commander of the 8th Company and a former student of Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai. He looks lazy, spends the day dreaming and likes to drink sake, but is a strong, loyal fighter and has a good knowledge of people. However, he has a weakness for women, especially for his Vice Commander Nanao Ise. He was one of Yamamoto's students, along with Jūshirō Ukitake. His zanpakutō is called Katen Kyōkotsu .
After Yamamoto's death, he was selected as the new commander in chief of the 13 protection units.
Tōshirō Hitsugaya ( 日 番 谷 冬 獅 郎 , Hitsugaya Tōshirō )
He is the commander of the 10th Company and the youngest to ever hold such an office. He is very intelligent and first suspected Gin Ichimaru as the mastermind behind the plot. He would protect his childhood friend Momo Hinamori with his life, but for his age she is of small stature and is repeatedly treated like a child, which he absolutely cannot stand. His zanpakuto is called Hyōrinmaru (dt. "Frozen ice ring") and appears in the form of a gigantic ice dragon with the power to rule over the sky and the weather. It is the strongest ice zanpakutō ever.
Kenpachi Zaraki ( 更 木 剣 八 , Zaraki Kenpachi )
He is the commander of the 11th Company and the only commander who neither knows the name of his Zanpakutō nor can he facilitate his release. He gave himself the name Zaraki Kenpachi. It is derived from the words "Zaraki", the name of a district in Rukongai - the slums of the Soul Society - from which it comes, and "Kenpachi", a title that the strongest swordsman deserves, composed. In his arguments he relies entirely on his strength and the hardness of his body; he appears very rude and brutal, but tends to lecture his opponents and give them a second chance.
It turns out that from a young age he fought Unohana - during her time as the first Kenpachi - and was even superior to her. He then turned his strength down a lot so he could have more fun fighting. After the attack of the Vandenreich, Unohana starts a fight with him so that he can get his original strength back completely. With every defeat he suffers from Unohana, a fraction of his strength returns. At the end of this fight, Zaraki kills her. From this point on he can also hear the voice of his zanpakutō.
Mayuri Kurotsuchi ( 涅 マ ユ リ , Kurotsuchi Mayuri )
He is the commander of the 12th Company and chief of the research department. He has a strange and ever changing appearance, which comes from the experiments he carried out on himself. Because of these experiments and inventions, he sometimes has very unusual fighting techniques. His zanpakutō is called Ashisogi Jizō . He likes to refer to beings with particular strengths as “test objects” and has very macabre traits. He is a scientist who hates perfection because perfection does not allow for improvement.
Jūshirō Ukitake ( 浮 竹 十四 郎 , Ukitake Jūshirō )
He is the commander of the 13th Company and therefore Rukia's superior. He is a former student of Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai and a very intelligent, calm man who values his subordinates. Vice Commanders

Chōjirō Sasakibe ( 雀 部 長 次郎 , Sasakibe Chōjirō )
He is the Vice-Commander of the 1st Company, and has been for more than 110 years. He has the rarest and shortest appearances of the vice commanders, which is why he is hardly noticed. Even his Zanpakutō Gonryōmaru is annoyed by it. Because Sasakibe hardly appears as an active fighter, his skills are unknown.
When the members of the Vandenreich first arrived, his bankai was stolen and killed.
Marechiyo Ōmaeda ( 大 前 田 希 千代 , Ōmaeda Marechiyo )
He is the Vice-Commander of the 2nd Company, like his father Marenoshin was before. Marechiyo is usually treated roughly and too severely by his commanding officer and therefore has to take a lot of blows from her, especially because she often considers him incompetent and also feels ugly. Despite everything, he is a loyal subordinate who can overcome his fears. The fat and dumb-looking appearance of Marechiyo is deceptive because he is intelligent and his strength lies in speed. His zanpakutō is called Gegetsuburi .
Izuru Kira ( 吉 良 イ ヅ ル , Kira Izuru )
Izuru is the Vice-Commander of the 3rd Company. He went to the same class at Shinigami Academy with Renji and Momo, and they were all discovered by Sōsuke Aizen when a group of Huge Hollow attacked a class of apprentices. The three were later brought into the 5th company, Izuru and Renji later switched to other companies, so that Izuru was the vice-commander of Gin Ichimaru, whom he respected very much. He has been deeply disappointed in him since his betrayal, yet he tries to keep his company together. He's not a particularly happy person and believes fights shouldn't be fun, just bring despair. In his opinion, he is the best of his company to present despair; so his Zanpakutō is also called Wabisuke , with which he doubles the weight of a hit object or body part with each hit, so that the opponent is brought to his knees and then beheaded by the angular shape of the sword.
Isane Kotetsu ( 虎 徹 勇 音 , Kotetsu Isane )
Isane is the vice-commander of 4th Company. She is a tall woman (which bothers her) and often suffers bizarre nightmares. However, she gets the attention of her commander, and she is often visited by her younger sister Kiyone. Outside of missions she is more of an insecure person, but she masters high-ranking kidō and is a very good healer; her zanpakutō is called Itegumo .
Momo Hinamori ( 雛 森 桃 , Hinamori Momo )
Momo is the Vice-Commander of the 5th Company. She went to the same class at the academy with Renji and Izuru and had long been an admirer of Sōsuke Aizen. Momo is the only one of them who stayed in 5th Company and had trained hard to become Aizen's vice-commander. She managed this and she also became a kidōmeister.
Aizen took advantage of her admiration and loyalty to turn her on to her childhood friend Tōshirō Hitsugaya and she was almost stabbed by Aizen herself. When she has recovered from her injury, she fights in the Battle of Karakura along with Rangiku Matsumoto against the three Fracciones animal Harribel, but it is seriously injured. During the battle against Aizen, Momo and he suddenly switched places and she is accidentally injured extremely seriously by Tōshirō. Still, she barely survived.
Your zanpakutō is called Tobiume .
Tetsuzaemon Iba ( 射 場 鉄 左衛 門 , Iba Tetsuzaemon )
Tetsuzaemon Iba is the vice-commander of the 7th Company. He is loyal to his commander and would do anything for him. Visually, Tetsuzaemon looks like a Japanese gangster, but he's a nice person. Until now he has hardly fought and although his Zanpakuto's Shikai is known, the name is still unknown. Tetsuzaemon is the president of the Shinigami Men's Organization, but the organization is not exactly successful.
Nanao Ise ( 伊 勢 七 緒 , Ise Nanao )
Nanao Ise is the Vice Commander of the 8th Company. She often resembles a secretary and has to admonish her often lazy commander several times. As a little girl, her role model was Lisa Yadomaru, the previous vice-commander of the 8th Company, who read her from a book every evening until the night she disappeared. Nanao is similar to Lisa in many ways, but she is much more discreet. The name of her zanpakutō is still unknown. Nanao is the vice-president of the Shinigami Women's Organization and is mostly responsible for the agenda.
Shūhei Hisagi ( 檜 佐 木 修 兵 , Hisagi Shūhei )
Shūhei Hisagi is the Vice Commander of the 9th Company. 100 years ago as a child he met Kensei Muguruma, who saved him from a hollow. When Shūhei saw the tattooed "69" on his chest, he tattooed it on his face as well. During Renji, Izuru and Momo's academy days, Shūhei was injured by a hollow and has been scarred ever since. Since that day he has been terrified of the fight, but his commander Kaname Tōsen explained to him that one should be afraid of the fight because those who are not afraid of their swords are not worth wearing . Shūhei adopted this philosophy from his commander, so he is all the more disappointed by his betrayal. In the last fight against Tōsen, this defeated Komamura, but is stabbed from behind by Shūhei himself. Shortly before his death, the former commander recognized the mistakes he had made and made up with his old friends.

His zanpakutō is called Kazeshini .

Rangiku Matsumoto ( 松本 乱 菊 , Matsumoto Rangiku )
Rangiku is the Vice-Commander of the 10th Company. She is Gin Ichimaru's childhood friend and they had a romantic-looking relationship. Rangiku is a beautiful woman with big breasts and can often be seen in fan service scenes. Although she shuns her work with documents, she does missions very conscientiously. Although they often make their commanders white-hot, they still have a good relationship. It was even Rangiku who recommended Hitsugaya to become a Shinigami who later became its commander. In the past, she was attacked by Aizen's subordinates, leading Gin to seek revenge for Rangiku.

Your zanpakutō is called Haineko .

Yachiru Kusajishi ( 草 鹿 や ち る , Kusajishi Yachiru )
Yachiru is the Vice-Commander of the 11th Company. Although she is still a little girl, she has enormous spiritual pressures and can withstand Kenpachis without any problems. Yachiru and Kenpachi are almost always together and have a father-daughter-like relationship. As a child she is still very playful and gives almost everyone she knows one or more nicknames; that's what she always calls her commander Ken-chan . Yachiru lost her parents as a toddler and she came from the second worst place in Rukongai , which is Kusajishi . Kenpachi picked her up on his travels and gave her and him their names.

Yachiru has not yet fought, although she has shown her strength a few times. She is the president of the Shinigami Women's Organization.

Nemu Kurotsuchi ( 涅 ネ ム , Kurotsuchi Nemu )
Nemu Kurotsuchi is the vice-commander of the 12th Company. She was created from the cells of her commander and is his daughter. However, her Creator treats her badly and despite abuse, she is very loyal to him. Nemu is very introverted, almost emotionally cold or out of touch with people. Mayuri often uses Nemu's body for experiments, so he “stores” drugs in her or adds new bodily functions to her. Since Nemu has only fought with her body instead of her zanpakutō, the name of her sword is unknown.
Kaien Shiba ( 志 波 海燕 , Shiba Kaien )
Kaien Shiba is the late Vice Commander of the 13th Company. At the moment he is represented by 3rd officers Kiyone Kotetsu and Sentaro Kotsubaki . He was the older brother of Kukaku and Ganju and the mentor of Rukia, whom she addressed as Kaien-dono . Kaien was married to a Shinigami named Miyako, who was killed by the Hollow Metastacia . While Kaien tried to kill Metastacia with his bare hands, the latter took over his body. When he attacked Rukia, she stabbed him out of reflex and Kaien was happy that he could leave her heart with her. After Metastacia's death, his and Kien's bodies were returned to Hueco Mundo , where they were eaten by Aaroniero Arruruerie. The Espada gained through Metastacias abilities including Kien's body, abilities, knowledge, memories and his Zanpakutō Nejibana . Later, after many years, Rukia took over his post as Vice-Commander.

More shinigami

Ikkaku Madarame is the 3rd officer of the 11th Company and is the second strongest man there, who even masters the Bankai, which he keeps a secret. Much like his commander, Ikkaku is extremely combative and never misses an opportunity to fight and end a fight. He never flees from an enemy, even if it would mean his death. After losing in the first meeting with Kenpachi Zaraki, he decided to fight for him. Like everyone else, he adheres strictly to the rules of the 11th Company, which is why he reveals his name to everyone he fights, because the person killed should then know the name of his murderer. According to Renji Abarai, Ikkaku is strong enough to carry the rank of commander, but Ikkaku keeps his hidden power (the Bankai) a secret because it is his wish to die under the leadership of Kenpachi Zaraki. Few know about his bankai. Ikkaku's trademarks are his shining bald head, his lucky dance and his fighting style of fighting with a sword scabbard. His zanpakutō is called Hozukimaru.

Yumichika Ayasegawa is the 5th officer of the 11th Company and Ikkaku's closest friend. He and Ikkaku lived and traveled together in Rugonkai and joined Gotei 13 together. In contrast to Ikkaku, Yumichika is extremely narcissistic and fixated on his own beauty and he detests everything ugly. This is also reflected in his rank, because he originally wanted Ikkaku's position because he found the character for 3 to be beautiful, but decided on the rank of 5th officer, since the character of 5 was similar to 3 and he was the character of 4 thinks ugly. Despite the contrast between his personality and the nature of 11th Company, he is extremely loyal to it. It even goes so far that he keeps the real name and the true abilities of his Zanpakutos Ruriiro Kujaku a secret, since it is a Kidō Zanpakuto and the 11th Company hates Kidō and therefore Yumichika fears to be expelled from the company, if that were to become known. That's what he calls his Zanpakuto Fuji Kujaku instead, because it hates that name and doesn't reveal its true abilities. Yumichika would rather choose death than openly reveal his abilities, which is why he only shows his true powers when no one notices.

Hanatarō Yamada is the 7th officer of the 4th Company, who supports the other characters with his knowledge and healing powers. He is extremely fearful, but has shown his courage and determination several times. So he and Ichigo decided to save Rukia, because she treated him nicely during her captivity. Hanatarō is very familiar with the sewers of Seireitei, where he can often lead the other characters and heal them there. His zanpakutō is called Hisagomaru, which can heal wounds. When it has healed enough wounds, it can then strike a powerful blow with great destructive power.

Antagonists

Sōsuke Aizen

( 藍 染 惣 右 介 , Aizen Sōsuke ) He is the former commander of the 5th Company and mastermind behind the plot for the Soul Society. He left Soul Society with Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tosen. Pretending to be kind, the life of his subordinates means nothing to him; he does not shy away from sacrificing them for his plans. He is also the leader of his Arrancar army, almost all of whose members were transformed into Arrancar by him. His plan is to create the King's Key and then overthrow the King of Soul Society. For this, Aizen has to sacrifice the inhabitants of Karakura City, Ichigo's hometown, with the help of the hogyoku - a spiritual object created by Kisuke Urahara. Aizen is endowed with very great strength and very high intellect, which is why he is almost invincible until his final fight against Ichigo. His Zanpakutō bears the name Kyōka Suigetsu and he is thus able to completely deceive all five senses of a being - but to do this you first have to see the release of it with your own eyes. Aizen later merges with the stolen Hōgyoku and is transformed several times. Only Ichigo manages to defeat Aizen through the power of the ultimate Getsuga Tenshō. Weakened by this, Aizen is sealed by Kisuke, and the Hōgyoku no longer accepted him as his master. But because Aizen is as good as immortal because of his strength, he will be banished to the eighth level of hell for 20,000 years (previously 18,800 years).

Aizen's subordinates

Gin Ichimaru ( 市 丸 ギ ン , Ichimaru Gin ) He is the former commander of the 3rd Company and a childhood friend of Rangiku Matsumoto. He leaves the Soul Society with Sōsuke Aizen and Kaname Tosen . His intentions are difficult to see through because of his constant grin. For example, he is quickly suspected of being the mastermind behind the apparent murder of Aizen, even though Aizen himself pulled the strings. When his childhood friend Rangiku Matsumoto was attacked by Aizen's subordinates, Gin decides to avenge her. So he graduated from Shinigami Academy within a year and became Aizen's right-hand man. However, he knew of Gin's intentions, but considered it impossible to be killed by him. After years, gin has found out the weakness of Aizen's Shikai and has been waiting for a propitious moment. He deceived the whole Soul Society and its allies and enemies that he is on Aizen's side. In the battle against Aizen he was finally able to betray Aizen, almost killing him and stealing his Hōgyoku. However, Aizen immediately got it back and killed Gin. Rangiku cries for him before he dies and Ichigo has returned to fight Aizen. Glad to have apologized to Rangiku and that Ichigo has got his determination back, he leaves the rest to him. His sword is called Shinsō (Holy Spear).

Kaname Tōsen is the former, blind commander of the 9th Company and left the Soul Society together with Sōsuke Aizen and Gin Ichimaru. He has a strong thirst for justice and is convinced that the path he has chosen is the right one. In a fight against his former friend Sajin Komamura, he explains that revenge on the Shinigami is his motivation. Tosen had a friend whom he admired for her sense of justice. She became a Shinigami but was killed by her husband because of an argument. Plagued by the fact that she died a miserable death, Tōsen named her Zanpakutō on her grave and became a Shinigami in order to take revenge later. He and Komamura became friends; Aizen named him as a subordinate, so that Tōsen later betrayed his commander Kensei Muguruma and became a commander himself. He taught his philosophy to his deputy commander Shuhei Hisagi, who admired him very much. In his last fight, Tōsen shows his hollow powers and performs his Resurrección Grillar Grillo , whereby he gained his eyesight. Although he defeated Komamura, he was stabbed from behind by Shuhei. Shortly before his death, he realized his mistakes and saw the faces of his friends one last time. His Zanpakutō, which belonged to his girlfriend, is called Suzumushi (Eng. Grasshopper); thus Tosen is the only Shinigami who mastered a foreign Zanpakutō.

Hollow

Hollow are evil souls that cannot be seen by people with little reiatsu. They attack souls , Shinigami and Quincy but also people with high levels of reiatsu and eat them to stay alive. Hollow arise either because they committed “sins” before their death, because a normal soul is made into a hollow by other Hollow, or when their soul is not brought to Soul Society by the Shinigamis. The latter happened to Inoue's unfortunate brother, who was made into a hollow by Grand Fisher to take out Ichigo . The Hollow are hunted and killed by the Shinigami because, among other things, they endanger the balance of souls that exist in Soul Society and in the real world.

Grand Fisher was a very vicious and dangerous hollow, who has already killed several Shinigami and Ichigo's mother. He has a grudge against Ichigo for some unexplained reason, and because of that he even becomes an unfinished but nevertheless dangerous Arrancar. He is killed by Isshin Kurosaki while taking revenge on Grand Fisher for the murder of his wife.

Menos Grande

Menos Grande are extremely strong hollow, which are divided into three "categories".

Gillian are the first Menos Grande and they all look the same. They arise when several Hollow begin to attack and eat each other. The Gillian are extremely stupid and have no personality of their own (but there are exceptions!).

Adjuchas are the second Menos Grande and all have the appearance of animals. If one of the Hollow that makes up a Gillian has a great urge to survive, his spirit takes over that of Gillian's and he again begins to eat the Gillian living around him. It can happen that the Gillian develops into an adjuchas.

Vastro Lorde are the third, last and strongest Menos Grande and seem to have a human-like appearance, but this is uncertain as only two Vastro Lorde have been seen so far, namely Baraggan Louisenbairrn , when he was still King of Hueco Mundo, and Tier Harribel , before her time in Aizen's Arrancara Army, in which she “ summons ” her future Fraccion . The vastro lords are very rare, which is why Aizen found only four vastro lords in all of Hueco Mundo. As with the Adjuchas, Vastro Lorde are only "developed".

Arrancar

Arrancar are Hollow who acquired shinigami-like powers, human looks and tremendous skill after their hollow masks were broken naturally that did not happen during a fight. External characteristics such as the remains of the mask and the hollow hole are still present (there are exceptions for the latter). Arrancar also have zanpakuto that they can free like Shinigami. No ghosts live in these, but the hidden hollow forces of the Arrancar rest, so that a liberation, called Resurrección , is a transformation of an Arrancar that resembles its earlier hollow itself. Arrancar are rare in Hueco Mundo, but Aizen has created his own Arrancar army with the help of Hogyoku, of which the ten strongest are called Arrancar Espada and numbered according to their ranks (0-9 or 1-10); the other created Arrancar are called Los Números (from 11-99) because they are sorted by age, that is, from the point in time when they became Arrancar. Espada have their authority among the Los Números, but they can only command Fracción , i.e. Los Números that they have chosen to command.

Espada

Yammy Llargo is the Décima Espada, but it becomes the Cero Espada during his resurrección. He is a stereotypical, very tall character with great physical strength but little intelligence. Yammy is rough, brutal, vulgar and doesn't think much of his colleagues. He even insulted Ulquiorra Cifer, with whom he worked, after his death. With his sealed strength, he is the weakest Espada. But through the strength that he conserves through sleeping and eating, he becomes the strongest of all Espada after his resurrección. The Espada is also the owner of a Hollow / Arrancar dog, number 35, who is very loyal to its owner. Yammy is the espada with the most (albeit short) fights and ultimately dies after fighting Kenpachi Zaraki and Byakuya Kuchiki. His resurrección is called Ira (Eng. Anger) and his death aspect is anger.

Coyote Starrk is the Primera Espada, however it was not made into an Arrancar like the other Espada by Aizen, but became an Arrancar before his time in Aizen's army by dividing his soul and resulting in two Arrancar: Coyote Starrk and Lilynette Gingerbuck . Starrk is very lazy and always sleeps in his free time and is a little grumpy. However, he does his tasks conscientiously, even if they annoy him. He has a kind of brother and sister relationship with Lilynette, but the Arrancar girl is the exact opposite of him, as she seems to be very energetic and very motivated. This often leads to minor quarrels, but the relationship between the two is very close, as they were very lonely because of their strength and envied the weak. Finally, Starrk meets the equally strong Shunsui Kyōraku, who kills him. Since both have a similar outlook on life, even though they were enemies, they got along well and complimented each other on the very strong attacks of their respective opponents. Before his death, Starrk realized that he wasn't alone after all, with the other Espada by his side. His common resurrección with Lilynette is called Los Lobos (Eng. The Wolves) and his death aspect is loneliness. He is an expert on Cero, the hollow lightning; so he doesn't need a specific pose or body part to shoot the Cero.

Baraggan Louisenbarn is the Segunda Espada and the former king of Hueco Mundo . With the appearance of an old man, he appears very authoritarian and commands six Fraccións, all of whom died fighting. The arrogant but very proud Espada sees nothing but insects in mostly people and he hates Aizen above all, who dethroned him many years ago and made him his subordinate. That's why Baraggan has vowed to take revenge on Aizen. With the ability to rot everything, he is one of the most dangerous Espada, but this ability is used against him, so that he dies. His resurrección is called Arrogante (dt. Arrogance) and his death aspect is age or time.

Tia Harribel is the Tres Espada. She always covers the lower half of her face with a high collar, but underneath is only her hollow mask. Harribel is a very calm and serious personality who doesn't put up with anything. Her three Fraccións are very loyal to her, and she is very attached to them herself. To protect her fellow campaigners, she joined Aizen's army to gain even more strength. Although she was very loyal to Aizen, he suddenly attacks her because he no longer needs her. She attacks Aizen angrily, but is struck down by him. In the third Databook from Tite Kubo one learns that Harribel and her Fracción survived and returned to Hueco Mundo. Harribel's Resurrección is called Tibúron (Eng. Shark), which reveals Harribel's face and allows her to control large amounts of water. Your death aspect is self-sacrifice.

Ulquiorra Cifer / Schiffer is the Quadro Espada and one of Ichigo's strongest rivals. The very calm but talkative Espada sees nothing but garbage in the Shinigami and people and is of the opinion that the heart does not exist. He is very loyal to Aizen and often leads important missions for him. Ulquiorra is heartless, cold-feeling, and has a ghostly appearance because of its white skin. In the action, he becomes the kidnapper of Orihime Inoue, whose relationship is profound. In his fights against Ichigo, he is exceedingly dominant and kills him almost every time. But when Ichigo reaches his second hollow shape, the Espada dies from the consequences of his serious injuries. In dying, Ichigo shows him humanity and in his last question to Orihime, the Espada learns what a heart really is. His resurrección is called Murciélago (German bat) and his death aspect is nihilism. In addition, Ulquiorra has reached the second stage of the Resurrección: the Resurrección: Segunda Etapa . Apparently no one else has reached this stage and is said to be unknown to Aizen himself, which is doubtful, since Aizen has controlled all things that happened.

Nnoitra Gilga is the Quinto Espada. The very tall and slim Arrancar with a broad grin carries around with him a conspicuously large weapon that is even larger than himself. Nnoitra loves fighting above all else; he is brutal, vulgar, fights unfairly, and shows both great fun and despair in his fights. He is the Espada with the strongest hierro, the iron skin of the Arrancar, and despite his rank describes himself as the strongest Espada. During his time as Octava Espada, he repeatedly fought and lost against the then Tres Espada, Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck. Together with Szayelaporro Granz, he finally defeated her with an unfair trick and threw her together with her Fraccións from Las Noches . After Ichigo Grimmjow defeated Jaegerjaques, he attacks the two immediately. After his one-on-one fights against Ichigo, Nelliel and Kenpachi Zaraki, the Espada dies exactly as it always wanted it to: dying in combat before its body hits the ground. His resurrección is called Santa Teresa (eng. Praying mantis) and his death aspect is despair. He also has a Fracción, Tesra Lindocruz.

Grimmjow Jaegerjaques is the Sexta Espada and a rival of Ichigo. The blue-haired Arrancar is the oldest Arrancar created by Aizens, even if you don't notice his young appearance. Grimmjow is rude, inconsiderate, contentious, but still intelligent. Grimmjow has a total of five Fraccións who were still devoted to him when they were hollow. The Sexta Espada has a lot of rivalry against Ichigo and has three big fights against him, losing the last one. Grimmjow's fighting style is especially designed for unarmed combat, which is why he has very high physical strength and high speed. He has a grudge against Ulquiorra and doesn't really like Aizen. After his first fight against Ichigo, Kaname Tōsen punished him by cutting off his left arm and burning it, which resulted in Grimmjow's loss of his Espada rank. In his second fight against Ichigo, he fights the masked Ichigo with only one arm, but can still win by losing his mask. Through Orihime Inoue's powers Grimmjow got his arm back and then kills his replacement, Luppi Antenor. In his last fight against Ichigo, both fight against each other with their full strength. Before that, however, Grimmjow acted against Aizen's orders, which is why he and Ulquiorra had a small argument. After Grimmjow's defeat, Ichigo shows him mercy and, after the Espada has got up again, refused to fight (the injured) Grimmjow again. Then Grimmjow is attacked by Nnoitra Gilga , but is still protected by Ichigo. His resurrección is called Pantera (dt. Panther) and his death aspect is destruction. It is unknown whether Grimmjow is still alive or whether the wound inflicted on him by the Quinto Espada was bad enough to kill him.

Luppi Antenor is the temporary replacement of Grimmjow, the Sexta Espada for a short time. The Arrancar has the appearance of a boy, but with feminine features and demeanor. He looks happy and exuberant, but is arrogant and likes to look down on others. Together with Yammy Llargo, Wonderweiss Margera and Grimmjow, who had lost his rank, he fights against the Shinigami as a distraction for Orihime Inoue's kidnapping. Although Luppi had the upper hand, he is defeated in the end by Tōshirō Hitsugaya. Back in Hueco Mundo, Grimmjow regains his arm and then kills Luppi. His resurrección is called trepadora, which means that it has eight tentacles on its back. In each of these tentacles there are incredibly sharp spikes hidden with which he can impale his opponents.

Zommari Rureaux is the Séptima Espada. The dark-skinned Arrancar is usually very calm and polite, but also shows an excited behavior. He adores Aizen and hates the Shinigami for slaughtering the Hollow. Zommari has the fastest Sonído (the Arrancar movement technique), the Gemelos Sonído, with which he can create up to five clones. In the fight against Byakuya Kuchiki he is killed by him. His resurrección is called Brujería (English: witchcraft), which means that in his new form he has 50 eyes with which he can control objects and foreign body parts. Its death aspect is obsession.

Szayelaporro Granz is the Octava Espada. The arrancar with the pink hair and glasses is a mad scientist with a macabre, sickening personality. Although it appears a little weaker than the other Espada, it compensates for this by modifying its prepared rooms. In this way he can seal the abilities of his opponents thanks to prior analysis and can create immense advantages in combat. Even his Fraccións serve the purpose that if he is seriously injured he can eat them and thereby be healed. Prior to joining Espada, he and Nnoitra Gilga worked together for a short period of time. Szayelaporro tested one of his inventions with Nnoitra's help, which had serious consequences for the then Tres Espada, Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck. After numerous opponents, Szayelaporro is killed by Mayuri Kurotsuchi, another scientist. His resurrección is called Fornicarás (Eng. Fornication) and his death aspect is madness.

Aaroniero Arruruerie is the Noveno Espada and the last Espada of the first generation, also it is the only Gillian Espada. Instead of a head, he has a glass vessel with red liquid on his body, where two small heads swim in it, which speak to him in tandem. That's why his "head" is covered with a mask. The upper head (Aaro) has a very deep voice and the lower head (Niero) has a bright, childlike voice. Despite minor differences in behavior, both heads are a single personality who is devious, cruel and proud of their strengths. Also, instead of a left hand, he has a very strange looking organ, which is his zanpakutō. With this he can eat up the bodies of dead Hollow and gain their abilities, bodies, personalities and memories and then imitate them perfectly. However, when sunlight falls on him, Aaroniero transforms back into his original form. In his fight against Rukia Kuchiki, he pretends to be Kaien Shiba, her former mentor, and uses his Zanpakutō Nejibana. Nevertheless, Rukia has learned his secret and kills the Espada, where she is seriously injured herself. His resurrección is called glotonería (dt. Greed) and his death aspect is greed.

Xcution

The Xcution is a group that only consists of fullbringers. Fullbringers are people whose at least one parent was attacked by a hollow before they were born. They have a special kind of reiatsus and master the ability to influence and control the soul of an object. Some fullbringer, like Sado , acquired their skills through the action of reiatsu, in this case from Ichigo. Every fullbringer owns an object, which he can even change in its form and in its "functionality". The members of the Xcution want to support Ichigo in restoring his Shinigami powers and help him to restore his full-bringing powers. But in reality they want to steal his full-bringing powers from him in order to become even more powerful. Both Sado and Ichigo join the Xcution without knowing their true intentions.

Kugo Ginjo is the main antagonist of the "Lost Shinigami Arc" of the leaders and founders of the Xcution, and he was also the first Shinigami deputy. When he learned the truth about his deputy badge, he had felt betrayed by the Soul Society and turned his back on it. He gathered fullbringer around him and gave them a happier life. However, he is also responsible for the deaths of several Shinigami and is therefore classified as a criminal by the Soul Society. Through the powers of Tsukishima, Ginjo's memories are manipulated and so he manages to gain Ichigo's trust. When he regains his real memories, he cheats on Ichigo and steals his full bring, which he shares with the other Xcution members. But Ichigo, who has regained his Shinigami powers through the Soul Society, can ultimately kill Ginjo. His body is buried in the world of the living at Ichigo's request. His soul, along with those of Tsukishima and Giriko, has swept the Soul Society. Ginjo's medium for his full-bringing Cross of Scaffold is his necklace, which can be transformed into a two-handed sword. He is also proficient in Bankai and has hollow powers.

Shukuro Tsukishima is the second antagonist next to Ginjo and is portrayed as Ichigo's only enemy until Ginjo's role is revealed. As a child he already knew Ginjo when he was Shinigami deputy. Tsukishima's Fullbring Book of the End transforms his bookmark into a katana that can cut through anything and transfer Tsukishima's presence into the memory of a person or object. At Ginjo's plan, he manipulates the memory of the Xcution members into believing that they want to restore Ichigo's Shinigami powers for another reason and that Tsukishima is the former leader of Xcution and became hostile to them, and also has their memories of his true abilities changed. He then manipulated the memories of Orihime, Sado, Ichigo's sisters and friends in such a way that they would regard him as a good friend and relative, whereby Ichigo was psychologically cornered. At the right moment, Tsukishima cuts his teammates again to give them back their true memories and to remind Ginjo to steal Ichigo's Fullbring. Tsukishima is mortally wounded in the fight against Byakuya and when he sees Ginjo's corpse, he wants to kill Ichigo immediately, but is stopped by Riruka. Dying he wanders desperately believing that he has lost his only friend. In his last moment, Tsukishima is carried on his back by his student Shishigawara and watches the sunrise with him; he realizes he still had a boyfriend after all. Tsukishima's soul has returned to the Soul Society along with those of Ginjo and Giriko.

Riruka Dokugamine is a young girl from the Xcution who is very quick-tempered and gets annoyed very quickly, especially by the other members. At first sight she falls in love with Ichigo, but does not want to give it up, and somehow manages to befriend Orihime. With her fullbring dollhouse she stows her beloved things in her dollhouse, and she can also grant people permission to enter the dollhouse. She fights against Rukia Kuchiki, but is not defeated by her and hides in her body for a certain time. In addition, Riruka is the only Xcution member who has not been out to get Ichigo's full bring powers and even saves his life when Tsukishima tries to attack him with a fatal sword blow. After her recovery, she disappears from the scene, but is very grateful to Ichigo, Sado and Orihime for meeting them.

Giriko Kutsuzawa is an older man from Xcution and works there as a head waiter. With his full bringing Time Tells No Lies he can give people special tasks that they have to complete in a certain time, otherwise death will follow. Giriko himself cannot finish the given tasks prematurely, should he do so he would die himself - he also lost his left eye when he tried in vain to prevent his wife from dying. His serenity is a facade, because behind it there is a lust for power and great arrogance, which immediately becomes his undoing in the fight against Kenpachi Zaraki. After his death, his souls, Ginjos and Tsukishimas enter the Soul Society.

Jackie Tristan is a dark skinned tall woman from the Xcution who wears boots. These boots serve as a medium for your Fullbring Dirty Boots , which transform into a combat suit. The dirtier her boots get, the stronger Jackie's pedaling power becomes. She trains with Ichigo, who has just discovered his full bring, and later fights with reinforced strength against Renji Abarai, who defeats her with ease. However, this spares her life, even saves her and lets her go. She meets Yukio one last time before going their own way.

Yukio Hans Vorarlberna is the youngest member of the Xcution, who constantly plays with his handheld console (a PSP). With the wealth that he stole from his parents, who then committed suicide, he procures secret bases for the Xcution and is also responsible for repairs. With his Full Bring Invader Must Die , Yukio sucks people into his console and then finds himself in a game world he has created and only he can release them again. These game worlds are used in the action as training rooms and as battlefields in the fight against the Shinigami of Gotei 13. In the fight against Toshiro Hitsugaya, however, he is captured and thus has to release the other Shinigami from the game worlds. He meets Jackie one last time before they go their own way.

Moe Shishigawara is the young student of Tsukishima, but not a member of the Xcution. Despite his appearance as a school hooligan, he is very respectful and polite, but his full bring is extremely dangerous, which is why Ginjo leaves him no part of Ichigo's full bring powers and later wants him to be killed by Tsukishima. Shishigaware is extremely loyal to Tsukishima, but his loyalty borders on naivete, so he would give his master his life although he is not sure if Tsukishima would do the same for him. His Full Bring Jackpot Knuckle allows Shishigawara to destroy objects with his knuckles. The severity of the destruction is made dependent on the result of his Jackpot Knuckle , since the Full Bring works like a one -armed bandit , i.e. H. with a jackpot the highest degree of destruction is achieved. However, Shishigawara found in the fight against Ikkaku Madarame that the probability of a jackpot decreases with each subsequent hit. He loses against Ikkaku, but the latter lets him go. In the end, Shishigawara doesn't leave the dying Tsukishima alone, carries him on his back and watches the sunrise before Tsukishima dies.

Vandenreich

The Vandenreich is an organization of quincys believed to be death for centuries. Their leader is Yhwach , who fought and survived against Yamamoto Genryusai over 1000 years ago. The elite soldiers of the Vanden Empire are called star knights , who hold ranks in alphabetical order according to their strength. The goal of the Vanden Empire is to take revenge on the Shinigami and destroy the soul society. After Aizen's defeat, the Vandenreich forcibly captured Hueco Mundo, killing countless Hollows and Arrancar who refused to join the army of Yhwach. Shortly thereafter, an invasion of Soul Society began, which the Shinigami were unable to counter, as the Quincys of the Vanden Empire are able to steal Bankai and use them against the Shinigami.

Yhwach

Yhwach is the king of the Vanden Empire, the star knight A and the strongest Quincy. He is cruel, devious and utterly authoritarian towards his subordinates. It was sealed by Yamamoto-Genryusai 1000 years ago, but after 900 years its heart began to beat again, after 90 years it regained its intellect and after 9 years it regained its strength. During the invasion of Soul Society, he steals and kills Yamamoto-Genryusai's Bankai Zanka no Tachi . His goal is to conquer the world in 9 days.

Star Knight

Jugram Haschwalth is the star knight B the right hand of Yhwach. He is respected by most of the Quincy and is seen by many as Yhwax's successor. He is called "Jugo" by Bazz-B. Hashvalth broke Ichigo's Bankai during the invasion.

Bambietta Basterbine is the young star knight E. She has a sadistic personality and kills her own subordinates to pass the time. During the invasion, she stole Komamura's bankai.

Äs Nödt is the star knight F ("The Fear"). Äs' gender is still unknown because of the long hair and the half mask that covers the lower half of the face. It can arouse fear in its opponents. For example, Äs defeated Byakuya after Äs stole his Bankai. Aes is burned by Yamamoto-Genryusai's flames but survives.

Bazz-B is the star knight H and is easy to recognize with his Iroquois. He is very temperamental and very distrustful of Uryu Ishida. He seems to be very familiar with Hashvalth and calls him "Jugo". Like Äs Nödt, he survived the flames of Yamamoto-Genryusai.

Quilge Opie is the star knight J ("The Jail") and is also the commander of the hunting army. He defeats Harribels Fracciónes and Ayon, but is defeated by Ichigo. However, Quilge gets up again and delays Ichigo's arrival at Soul Society by locking him in a Reishi prison. Before he can kill Urahara, Orihime and Chad, he is killed by Grimmjow. His "perfect holy figure of the Quincys" is called Biskiel .

Driscoll Berci is the star knight O ("The Overkill") and becomes stronger by killing. He stole the Bankai from Sasakibe and uses it against Yamamoto-Genryusai, but the stolen Bankai is too weak and Driscoll is burned down and killed by his opponent.

Loyd Lloyd and Royd Lloyd are the star knights Y ("The Yourself") and have the ability to transform themselves into other people. While Lloyd can imitate the powers of others, Royd can copy the personality and memories of others.

Supporting characters

Ichigo's school friends

Ichigo's other school friends also seem to have special skills. These are Tatsuki Arisawa ( 有 沢 竜 貴 , Arisawa Tatsuki ), Keigo Asano ( 浅 野 啓 吾 , Asano Keigo ) and Mizuiro Kojima ( 小島 水色 , Kojima Mizuiro ). They are able to perceive the Hollows and Shinigami, but are not aware of the powers dormant in them.

Mod souls

The Mod-Souls / Kaizō konpaku ( 改造 魂魄 ) are modified souls. They have the external shape of a pill, but can take over bodies of soulless objects (e.g. bodies abandoned by the soul, stuffed animals, etc.) if they are placed inside them. Shinigami, on the other hand, use this ability in the opposite way to be able to leave their body (gigai). The Kaizō konpaku then have the option of taking over the empty body. According to the plot, they were created by the Soul Society to go into battle against the Hollows. But it was considered immoral to send dead bodies into battle. Shortly afterwards, almost all Kaizō konpaku were destroyed, so that only a few of them still exist. One of them is Kon ( コ ン ), which Rukia bought from Urahara as a Gikongai. As a Gikongai, he should take over Ichigo's body when he leaves his body as a Shinigami. However, Kon is anything but a worthy replacement for Ichigo's soul, since Kon is driven by various desires and would prefer not to give up Ichigo's body again. During the time when Ichigo resides in his own body, he usually appears in the form of a stuffed lion, which he can control as Kaizō konpaku. But no matter what shape he is in, he cannot help stalking beautiful women.

Visoreds

Visoreds or Vizards are Shinigami who have been hollowfied and have received hollow powers. Eight high-ranking Shinigami were hollowfied by Sōsuke Aizen's experiments and then they were to be sentenced to death for that hollowfication together with Kisuke Urahara, who was accused of the experiments, and Tessai Tsukabishi, but thanks to Yoruchi Shihōin they were saved and all eleven fled into exile . The Vizards have trained their hollow powers and are now proficient in their hollowfications. They are now hostile to Gotei 13, but they were still able to ally against Aizen, as the Vizards are also Ichigos ally who helped him control his hollow powers.

Filler characters

Bount Arc

The mod soul trio

At the beginning of the Bount saga, you are tasked with kidnapping Ichigo's friends and giving them puzzles in order to train them. Later they confront and kill the bount together. Since they are Mod-Souls they can, like Kon, put their soul into other objects like e.g. B. Transfer stuffed animals.

Ririn is the still very childish leader of the mod soul trio that was created by Kisuke Urahara to track down the Bounto. The stuffed animal into which she transfers her soul is a chicken. Her skills include creating illusions. She also uses this in seasons of the anime that are based on the manga, although she does not appear there, the plot has been changed a little.

Cloud is a tall man with long blond hair. He can copy the appearance of people, a skill he mainly used to make the puzzles the trio Ichigo and their friends posed more difficult. The cuddly toy it is transferred to is a rabbit.

Nova is a very calm man reminiscent of a ninja who can teleport himself and other people . The stuffed animal that was chosen for him is a turtle in a suit.

Bounts

Bounts are people who feed on souls like Hollow. However, they do not eat up the souls, but rather suck them up, similar to vampires. This is the reason why bounts reach a very old age but don't age physically. The consumption of living people is against the code; The natural consequence is faster aging. The bounts were originally created in the Soul Society through a failed experiment and are practically the ancestors of the Mod Souls. Since the Shinigami wanted to destroy it, the surviving bounts fled to the world of the living. However, almost all bounts in the war against the Quincy were killed by them, which is why there are only a few left at the beginning of the saga. Led by Jin Kariya, they want to take revenge on the Soul Society and get there with help and cause great chaos. Ultimately, the Bounts are defeated by the Gotei 13 and the Ryoka.

Yoshino Soma was Kariya's former lover and is an image of Ran'Tao. Your doll is called Goethe . She also helps Ishida when he is injured. She connects her body to her doll to kill Jin Kariya , but is instead killed herself. The energy released afterwards is used by Jin Kariya to create new dolls, the so-called bittos. Yoshino Soma was the only bount who was kind to Ichigo and his friends.

Jin Kariya is the main antagonist of the Bount saga and leader of the Bounts. As a child he merged with his Doll knife , which is why he can control the wind and fly without conjuring up and is well protected against physical attacks. In the past, too, Kariya was a kind of outsider with the Bounts because they did not approve of his plans. But after decades he managed to put together a group of the last bounts and thus a squad against the Soul Society. However, he only treats them as chess pieces, because his goal is the complete destruction of sea ice. So he absorbs the Jokaisho in order to blow up Seireitei. In the end, Kariya is killed by Ichigo and thus leaves the eternal cycle of his life.

Gō Koga is one of Kariya's closest confidants, whose name is Doll Dark . He is the only bount who survived Kariya's onslaught on Soul Society.

Ryō Utagawa is one of the first bounts to appear and his doll is called Fried .

Dolls

The bounts fight with dolls , i.e. living objects with a seal on them. The dolls are awakened by the German saying “ Show yourself ” and then take their shape. If either the master or the doll dies, the other dies too, because they are psychologically connected. Initially, a bount does not "own" a doll, but has to create it through a ritual.

Goethe was Yoshino Soma's doll and masters fire. He allied with this in the fight against Jin Kariya, but was then killed by Jin Kariya along with Yoshino Soma. If he is wounded he regenerates completely, which is why Ichigo has great problems fighting him, since he only used Zangetsu to attack.

Nieder is a two-piece doll. It consists partly of a sword that is used for attack, and partly of a fan that is used for defense. Both seem to act independently, but they are linked by a chain. Each part has a mouth to talk to. In each mouth there is one eye that can be moved like a tongue. Only part of the doll can show itself in its true form : While one becomes a kind of armguard with a mouth on the shoulder, the other becomes a weapon: the fan becomes a large round shield, the perfect defense, the sword becomes one Kind of sword chain, the perfect attack. It takes Yoshi a few seconds to switch from one form to the other, which Ishida uses to kill her.

Baura was Sawatari's doll. He had the appearance of a whale and the ability to dive into another dimension. In addition, his stomach was connected to this dimension, so he always ate his opponents in the end.

Bittos were the dolls created by the energy released upon Yoshino Soma's death. They look very much like wasps and suck the soul out of living people. They then fill them into a kind of test tube, from which the bounts can absorb the souls, which have now become a liquid substance. That gives them power, even three times more power than if they would absorb people's souls in a "normal" way. Due to the large number of bittos, the bounts can develop gigantic powers within a very short time.
