Rúnar Rúnarsson
Rúnar Rúnarsson (* 1977 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic director and screenwriter .
Life
Rúnar Rúnarsson grew up near Reykjavík and made his first film Klosettmenning in 1995 with Grímur Hákonarson . The short film consists of five episodes, all of which were shot with one camera angle. He was accepted as a contribution to the Nordisk Panorama Film Festival . This motivated Rúnar to make more films. Five years later he continued to shoot the short film Oiko Logos with Hákonarson . In the same year he made, this time alone, the episode film of 12 minutes called Rætur . In 2002, the resident of Denmark at the time applied unsuccessfully to Den Danske Filmskole .
Leitin að Rajeev is an almost one-hour documentary film about the Icelander Birta Fróðadóttir, who makes her way to India to find a friend from childhood, Rajeev. Rúnar produced the film with his company Óháðakvikmyndagerðin . The short film Síðasti bærinn , released two years later, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Short Film in 2006. He added this to his ultimately successful application for Den Danske Filmskole.
Rúnar completed his studies with the Danish-language short film Anna . His first full- length film is Eldfjall . This won the Edda in various categories .
Rúnar believes that film is an art genre and that the director is the artist, so the producer shouldn't have too much influence.
