Rund Island ( English from Norwegian Rundholmen , Round Island ) is an island off the coast of the East Antarctic Kempland . It is located near the head end of Stefansson Bay .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, mapped them in 1946 using aerial photographs taken between January and February 1937 during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia transferred this designation in 1972 in a partial translation into English.
