Runda kumpulan Kecil

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Runda Kumpulan Kecil (English: "Small Patrol Units", RKK) is a jihadist , Islamist rebel group that operates in southern Thailand .

In recent years, the RKK has been one of the most brutal and active violent groups in the conflict in southern Thailand, which has been ongoing since 2004 .

history

The Runda Kumpulan Kecil was founded by members of the Barisan Revolusi Nasional who had received military training in Indonesia . Therefore, the RKK is still viewed by some analysts as an offshoot of Pejuang Kemerdekaan Patani, which is associated with the Barisan Revolusi Nasional, and not as an independent organization. Several RKK members have been arrested or killed by the Thai military in the past .

Incidents

The RKK group has been involved in numerous arson, bombing and murder attacks over the past decade. Seventeen suspects, arrested by the Thai police after the killing of a bhikku on October 16, 2005, claimed to be part of the RKK. Post-arrest reports said members of the insurgent group had been trained at madrasas in Bandung, Indonesia. On February 13, 2013, an armed group of 60 men attacked a military base in the southern part of the country, 16 of whom were killed by the army. In an attack on April 4, 2017 in Yala, 12 police officers were injured and the group was accused of this by security forces. On August 22, 2017, a man arrested in his 30s was designated as an RKK member. The Thai media claimed he was one of the attackers who robbed six trucks on August 16, 2017. A top member of the group, Sobueri Jehe, was killed by security forces. Between 2000 and April 2018, the group lost around 39 members.
