The Runddysse of Vielsted is located in the field, northeast of Soro , between the Store Ebberup and Nyrup on the Danish island of Zealand . The megalithic complex from the Neolithic Age was built by the people of the Funnel Beaker Culture (TBK) between 3500 and 2800 BC. Built in BC. Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies. Their origin and function are considered to be the hallmarks of social development.

description

The round dolmen of Vielsted consists of 19 large, slightly inwardly sloping curbs, which border the round mound of earth, in the middle of which is the extended dolmen, three meters long and about one meter wide. The megalithic complex has four bearing stones and a capstone. The capstone was exposed for a long time because the upper part of the hill has been eroded. The Vielsted dolmen is next to Poskær Stenhus (originally 24 kerbstones) and Frenderupgård the best preserved structure of this type in Denmark.

Nearby

The Langdysse of Vielsted is 500 m to the west. In the south-west of Kirke Flinterup there is a second round dysse and a long dysser with two chambers. At Hellestrup there are two long dikes, one with a large chamber. In the Nordskoven there is a hill with a chamber, while others are destroyed. Langdysse Kildehøje is located on the northeastern bank of Gystringe Sø .
