Runestone Ög 224

The runestone Ög 224 is near Stratomta, east of Linghem in the parish Törnevalla, near Linköping in Östergötland in Sweden .

The 1.7 m high, 1.1 m wide and 0.3 m thick rune stone is inscribed on three sides with 12 cm high runes . The inscription begins on the southwestern side, continues on the northeastern side and ends on the northwestern narrow side. The tape on the northeast side is in the shape of a snake. In addition to the serpentine ribbon, a ship can be seen on the southeast side and a cross on the northwest side - at the very top. The inscription from Ög 224 or RAÄ-Nr. Törnevalla 27: 2 is dated to the 11th century.

The inscription reads: "Astrid, Osvalde, (and) Augmund had this stone carved after Halvdan, their father and Ästrid after their husband."
