Runic is a Spanish metal band and was founded in Castellón in 2000 .

history

The demo Awaiting the Sound of the Unavoidable was recorded in 2001 and is now a rare collector's item. The band attracted international attention with their 2006 album Liar Flags , which received numerous reviews in metal magazines.

style

The style has sometimes been described as Melodic Death Metal and Epic Death Metal, or Viking Metal . However, the majority assumed that the style was Pagan Metal . The band said of themselves that they have a great admiration for the Vikings. The use of medieval instruments such as B. the hurdy-gurdy or the bagpipes justified the designation of a pagan metal band. Traditional Spanish folk instruments were also used.
