Guelmim-Es Semara ( Arabic كلميم السمارة, Zentralatlas-Tamazight ⴳⵓⵍⵎⵉⵎ ⵙⵙⵎⴰⵔⴰ ) was an administrative region in southern Morocco until the administrative reform of 2015 . The region had around 502,000 inhabitants (2009 estimate); the capital was Guelmim .
The region consisted of the following provinces:
Parts of the provinces Assa-Zag and Es Semara lay in the territory of the Western Sahara . Since 2015, the Es-Semara Province has belonged to the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region , the Tata Province to the Souss-Massa region, and the Assa-Zag, Guelmim and Tan-Tan provinces to the Guelmim-Oued Noun region .
