After the war, Russel Alden Mosser changed careers and, with Arthur “Art” H. Wolf, a long-time friend, founded Centron Corporation Inc. in 1947, a production company with which Mosser and Wolf mainly produced short documentaries. For the next 34 years, Centron Corporation produced film recordings and multimedia presentations for industry, education, and government. Mossers and Wolf's company has received numerous national and international film festival prizes and in 1970 it was nominated for an Oscar in the category “ Best Short Documentary ” for the Leo Beuerman production . This 13-minute film portrays the resident of Kansas who, due to his disabilities (so-called glass bone disease) and disfigurements, leads a life full of privation in Lawrence (Kansas).

Russell A. Mosser retired from active production in 1981 after making around 100 films and devoted himself to numerous voluntary activities. So he served from 1957 to 1961 as commissioner of Lawrence City and sat from 1975 to 1990 on the advisory committee of the Presbyterian Manor, also in his home ward Lawrence.
