Russell Cassanova (born April 4, 1991 in Corozal ) is a Belizean football player .

Career

In the club

Cassanova started his career at the Nizhee Corozal club . There he made his senior debut in the Belize Bank Super League in 2009 . After two years, the striker left the club and moved to Suga Boys Juventus Orange Walk . There he played for half a year and then moved to San Antonio FC . On December 18, 2012, Casanova and his team were elected champions and the Inter-District Champion of Champions as Most Valuable Player .

International

Cassanova is a Belize international and made his unofficial international debut in a friendly against Mexican fourth division side Tigrillos of Quintana Roo. He took part in the Copa Centroamericana in January 2013 and made his official international debut in the first group game against the Costa Rican national soccer team as part of the tournament. On January 23, 2013 he moved for the first time with the national team in the semifinals of the Central American Cup .

Private

Cassanova, who was born in Corozal, attended the Centro Escolar México in San Román , Corozal District . His older brother Randy is a former Belize international.
