Russell Lewis (choreographer)
Russell Dycke Lewis (born July 19, 1908 in Hollywood , California - † November 12, 1961 ) was an American choreographer who was nominated for an Oscar for best dance directing.
Life
Lewis had a mid-1930s four films as a choreographer and dance director with, first in which of Lloyd Corrigan staged short film La Cucaracha (1934), the fully three-color system which is regarded as the first feature film in movie history, Technicolor implemented has been. The main roles were played by Steffi Duna , Don Alvarado and Paul Porcasi .
At the Academy Awards in 1937 he was nominated for the Oscar for best dance director , which was only awarded between 1936 and 1938, for the dance scene "The Finale" from the film musical Dancing Pirate (1936) by Lloyd Corrigan with Charles Collins , Steffi Duna and Frank Morgan .
