successes

Rustam Yambulatov, who started for Mehnat Tashkent, took part in the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow in a trap . Like Jörg Damme and Josef Hojný, he scored 196 hits, so that there was a playoff for the silver medal behind Olympic champion Luciano Giovannetti . Yambulatov and Damme each hit 24 of the 25 goals, while Hojný only got 23 hits, finishing fourth. In another lap, Yambulatov didn't miss a shot, Damme missed a target. So Yambulatov received the silver medal before Damme. The year before, he had already won the silver medal at the World Championships with the Trap team in Montecatini Terme . In 1981 he became world champion with the team in San Miguel de Tucumán . Four years later, again in Montecatini Terme, he secured another silver medal with the team.
