Rusty Russell
Paul "Rusty" Russell (born January 18, 1973 in London , England) is an Australian Linux kernel developer. He works at IBM's Linux Technology Center . He is also known for his work on the packet filter as well as iptables , Futex , loopback , hotplug CPU support and the "in-kernel module loader".
In 1999 he organized the first Australian Linux conference ( linux.conf.au ), which takes place annually.
Currently (as of 2020) he works at Blockstream and is involved in the development of the Lightning protocol.
