Rutog ( Tibetan རུ་ ཐོག་ རྫོང་ , transcription after Wylie : ru thog rdzong , also Ruthog Dzong ; Chinese 日 土 县 , Pinyin Rìtǔ Xiàn ) is a Chinese district in the Tibet Autonomous Region , which belongs to the administrative area of the Ngari District . It is on the border with Kashmir . In 1999 it had 7,140 inhabitants. The salt water lake Banggong Co lies on its territory.
