The Pond Security Service GmbH (mostly short Pond ) is a private security service , which on 1 January 1983 by Daniel M. Pond, a former member of the US Army was founded. The company, based in Erlensee in the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse, provides personnel, advice and other security services for companies and institutions. Contracts between Pond and the State Department and the United States Armed Forces have existed since 1986 . Pond Security is therefore responsible for guarding numerous properties of the US armed forces, as well as some consulates. The contract to guard the US embassy and consulates was lost after a new tender in 2007.

criticism

Four works councils , who were working as security guards for the guarding of the US consulate in Frankfurt, were withdrawn from the consulate in 2004, whereupon Pond terminated their employment. The ver.di regional head of Hesse then wrote a letter to Joschka Fischer , the foreign minister at the time. In another letter, ver.di officially protested to the US ambassador in Berlin.
