Ruxandra Donose

Ruxandra Donose (born September 2, 1964 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Ruxandra Donose studied singing and piano at the Bucharest Conservatory .

In 1990 she won second prize at the ARD competition in Munich. This was followed by a first foreign engagement in Basel . From 1992 she was a member of the Vienna People's and State Opera . From here a rapid, international career developed both as an opera singer (Covent Garden, Opera Bastille, Metropolitan Opera, Salzburg Festival, etc.) and as a song and oratorio interpreter.

Ruxandra Donose is considered an excellent bel canto singer, but also one of the leading interpreters of the French and Mozartian mezzo subjects. Her voice is characterized by a dark, warm tone, extreme agility and a light, radiant treble.

Ruxandra Donose lives in Vienna with her husband and two children .
