Ryō Kushino ( Japanese 櫛 野 亮 Kushino Ryō ; born March 3, 1979 in Kumamoto Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Kushino learned to play soccer on the school team at Ozu High School . He signed his first contract in 1997 with JEF United Ichihara (today: JEF United Chiba). The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 2005 and 2006 he won the J.League Cup with the club . For the club he completed 139 first division games. In 2007 he was loaned to the first division club Nagoya Grampus Eight . For the club he completed six first division games. In 2008 he returned to JEF United Chiba . At the end of the 2009 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . For the club he completed 43 games. At the end of 2013, he ended his career as a football player.
