Yamanaka has played for Kashiwa Reysol since 2003 and was promoted to the professional squad in 2012. In 2014 he was loaned to JEF United Chiba . In 2017 he switched to Yokohama F. Marinos . In 2019 he switched to Urawa Red Diamonds .
