Ryūji Nagata ( Japanese 永田 隆 二 , Nagata Ryūji ; born March 28, 1972 in Nagasaki Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Nagata learned to play soccer on the Kunimi High School school team . He signed his first contract with Mazda in 1990 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League Division 2. In 1990/91 he was runner-up in Division 2 with the club and was promoted to Division 1. With the founding of the professional league J.League in 1992 and the associated reorganization of Japanese football, Mazda became Sanfrecce Hiroshima . In 1994 he moved to Oita Trinity . At the end of 1997 he ended his career as a football player.
