The Ryan Reef is an isolated rocky reef off the north coast of South Georgia . It is 800 m north of the eastern boundary of the entrance to Doris Bay .
The reef is unnamed on a map based on surveys by scientists from the British Discovery Investigations between 1925 and 1931. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1955 as part of surveys carried out by scientists from the South Georgia Survey from 1951 to 1952. It is named after Alfredo R. L.
