Ryōhei Katō ( Japanese 加藤 凌 平 , Katō Ryōhei ; born September 9, 1993 in Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a Japanese gymnast .

One of his greatest successes was winning the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, which he was able to achieve for the first time in the all- around finals together with Kenzo Shirai , Kohei Uchimura , Yūsuke Tanaka and Koji Yamamuro. At the Olympic Games in 2012 he won a silver medal with the Japanese team, at the World Gymnastics Championships in 2013 a silver medal in the all-around and a silver medal in the team competition at the World Gymnastics Championships in 2014 .

He has been studying at Juntendō University since 2012 .
