Sándor Reschofsky

Sándor Reschofsky (born February 15, 1887 in Temesvár ( Austria-Hungary ), † April 2, 1972 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian pianist , composer and music teacher .

Life

Reschofsky studied piano, composition and orchestration at the Budapest Music Academy with Árpád Szendy and János Koessler . In 1908 he obtained his piano teacher diploma there. In 1913, together with Béla Bartók, he published the Zongoraiskola piano school , which was published by the Rózsavölgy és társa music publisher in Budapest. From 1926 he worked at the Ernő Fodor Music School. From 1946 to 1958 he taught piano at the Franz Liszt Music Academy .

Reschofsky composed songs, works for piano, harp, string and wind ensembles. He also composed the two operas Kleopátra and Keleti álom , for which he also wrote the libretto .
