Sao João Baptista (Santo Antão)
São João Baptista is a freguesia of Cape Verde . It comprises the larger, more southern part of the Porto Novo concelhos on the island of Santo Antão . In 2010 the administrative unit had 14,465 inhabitants. The freguesia is named after Saint John the Baptist . The place has a mayor ( Rosa Rocha ). Most of the freguesia is located on the southern slope of the island. Numerous streams run in the area. The main town is Porto Novo . There is a football club in Lajedos .
