São Mamede de Escariz is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
São Mamede de Escariz is part of the Vila Verde district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 3.4 km² and 388 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Escariz (São Mamede) and Escariz (São Martinho) were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Escariz (São Mamede) e Escariz (São Martinho) .
