description
The saber helmet beard has a slightly curved instead of a sharp blade saber blade as a peak, may be injured with the non- or lightly armored enemy so that they die from blood loss. Particularly pretty and elaborately crafted saber helmet beards are assigned a ceremonial role as a guards, city guard and non-commissioned officer weapon, with which it was difficult to fight, whereas the simply crafted purely military purposes. Saber helmet beards were in use in the 16th and 17th centuries and were used, for example, in the Thirty Years War .
