The Saxon II were mixed train locomotives of the Royal Saxon State Railways .

Between 1854 and 1875, 132 locomotives were built by several manufacturers for various railways, which were later classified in the Saxon class II . After the founding of K. Sächs. Sts. EB these 1B locomotives initially received the category III from 1871 . After the old class II locomotives were decommissioned or redesignated, the previous class III was introduced as the new class II from 1885, while the old class IIIb (b still for new design ) became the new class III , before it was later re-introduced by the Sub-generic character b (now for movable barrel axis).
