The no. 1 to 5 of the Altenburg-Zeitz railway company were Schlepptender locomotives for mixed services.

history

In 1874, the Altenburg-Zeitzer railway company procured four 1-B locomotives from Borsig in Berlin , with which they started operations. Another followed in 1875. They were used for all tasks, because until 1880 these were the only locomotives on this line.

On the Altenburg-Zeitzer Bahn they were named ZEITZ , MEUSELWITZ , WILHELM I. , HERZOG ERNST and ROSITZ as well as the numbers 1 to 5.

In 1896 the Altenburg-Zeitzer Bahn was bought by the Royal Saxon State Railways . This initially classified the locomotives with the numbers 745 to 749 in class II . From 1900 they were numbered 2745 to 2749.

The locomotives were retired in 1911 and 1922. The Deutsche Reichsbahn , founded in 1920 , no longer issued any new numbers.

technical features

The locomotives had a long and standing boiler without any external separation. The steam dome with the spring balance safety valve was on the first part of the boiler. An injector was used to feed the boiler .

The steam engine was designed as a two-cylinder wet steam engine with internal all-control.

All axles were rigidly mounted in the frame. The two driving axles each had a common spring on each side of the locomotive.

As was common at the time, the locomotives did not have a brake. Braking the locomotive was only possible using the tender brake.
