Dresden-Pillnitz, Schindlerbau: State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology

The State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) is an authority of the Free State of Saxony . It is subordinate to the State Ministry for Environment and Agriculture . The office is based in Dresden and has numerous branches. The current president is Norbert Eichkorn.

The State Office emerged from the amalgamation of several predecessor institutions on August 1, 2008.

tasks

The state office advises and supports the state ministry on technical issues relating to ecology , raw materials and agriculture. In detail, the 10 departments deal with the following tasks:

  • Environmental monitoring, documentation and reporting
  • Implementation and enforcement of the agricultural and food industry law, environmental law and radiation protection law
  • Policy support and policy impact assessment - Advising the State Ministry for the Environment and Agriculture on issues relating to the agri-food industry, environmental protection and geology
  • Promotion of agricultural and environmental measures
  • Preservation and development of the cultural landscape and rural areas
  • Geoscientific and soil science survey
  • Applied research in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, environmental protection and geology
  • Maintaining and improving the competitiveness of the agri-food sector
  • Vocational training and further education in the fields of agriculture and horticulture
  • Quality controls
  • Laboratory analysis
