Sóror Maria do Céu

Sóror Maria do Céu (Sister Maria from Heaven) (born September 11, 1658 in Lisbon , Portugal ; † May 28, 1753 ibid) was a Portuguese nun who, with her literary work, was a representative of spiritual poetry and theater in Portugal during the Baroque era was.

Maria do Céu came from a wealthy family. At the age of 18 (1676) she joined the Franciscan Sisters and was ordained in the Convento do Esperança until her death.
