The Söderledstunneln (in German southern tunnel connection ) is a tunnel in the center of the Swedish capital Stockholm . It lies between the Centralbron and the Johanneshovsbron in the Södermalm district . The tunnel has a length of 1550 meters and crosses Södermalm from north to south.

Construction began on October 9, 1984. The new building was to tunnel into the old open road shaft , which was built in 1944 under the name Södergatan. This approximately 650 meter long road shaft cut through the northern parts of Södermalm; Many historic residential areas had been demolished during construction.

In 1966, a short, 150-meter-long section of the tunnel was created in the course of redevelopment, but not yet opened to traffic due to the lack of road closures. The tunneling was completed in January 1991, at the same time preparing the ground for new apartment blocks built on the tunnel, with which the previously demolished houses were to be replaced.

The tunnel has a width of 7.25 meters and a height of 4.50 meters. It consists of two tubes with two lanes in each direction. 110 meters of the tunnel are not clad and are located in the rock, the remaining 1400 meters are built with a concrete structure. The tunnel was last extensively renovated in 2011.
