Sönke Zankel

Sönke Zankel (* 1973 ) is a German teacher , author and historian .

Life

Zankel completed a degree in history, Protestant theology, philosophy, German and economics / politics and worked with leaflets against Hitler. The resistance group around Hans Scholl and Alexander Schmorell in Munich received their doctorate in 2005 under Günter Hockerts . In his doctoral thesis, according to other historians, he made partly speculative claims about the members of the White Rose. For example, he claimed, among other things, that Sophie and Hans Scholl were drugged when they were distributing the leaflets, or, in another example, that they had “a certain proximity to anti-Jewish thinking”.

He was a student trainee and lecturer at the University of Flensburg. He is currently working in mentor training at the CAU in Kiel.

As a historian, he deals with the time of National Socialism .

Sönke Zankel is currently working in teacher training at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel . As a teacher he teaches German, history, philosophy, religion as well as economics and politics at the Ludwig-Meyn-Gymnasium in Uetersen . He also heads a “history workshop” there and is responsible for advising on scholarships. Sönke Zankel supports and directs several projects at the Ludwig-Meyn-Gymnasium, including several film publications. In 2012 he worked with two other teachers and a 10th grade from Ludwig-Meyn-Gymnasium to develop the first Uetersen lexicon, which was published on December 15, 2012 after more than four months of work. As a district consultant, he is also responsible for nature and environmental education in the Pinneberg district .
