Sören Hartmann (* 1963 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German manager . He is Chief Executive Officer of the DER Touristik Group and a member of the Executive Board of the Rewe Group .

Life

After graduating from high school, Hartmann completed an apprenticeship as a travel agent at TUI in Hanover. He started his professional career in 1989 in corporate development at the TUI subsidiary Take Off Flugouristik in Düsseldorf and played a key role in building this up. In 1991 he changed to Globus Reisen as division manager in Cologne, two years later he was hired in a similar position at the Cologne-Düsseldorf Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt . In 1996 Hartmann returned to TUI, where he rose to become a member of the Tourism Management Board of TUI Germany. In 2006 Hartmann was appointed Managing Director of Robinson Club , a subsidiary of the TUI Group.

In 2010 Hartmann took over the management of Rewe Touristik. In this position, he realigned the group's activities, in particular to improve returns. At the beginning of his term of office, among other things, the outbreak of Eyjafjallajökull , strikes at Deutsche Bahn and Lufthansa, and unrest in North Africa, all of which put a heavy strain on the tour operator's business. Due to the successful restructuring, Hartmann was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of DER Touristik in 2014. He centralized the organizational structure of the group of companies, introduced new organizers and expanded the business considerably with the takeover of the Kuoni organizers in Europe.

At the end of 2016, the Rewe Group announced that Hartmann would move into the Group's executive board as part of the change at the top of the group. Hartmann has been Board Member for Tourism at the Rewe Group since July 2017.
