The Súper Ballón d'Or ( French for "Super Golden Ball") is the name of a former prize that was awarded on December 24, 1989 by the French football magazine France Football for the best football player of the last three decades .

In 1989 the France Football Prize was awarded to the best player in Europe for the past three decades. Nominated were Franz Beckenbauer , Johan Cruyff , Alfredo Di Stéfano , Kevin Keegan , Michel Platini and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge . In the special vote, the readership and the former winners of the Ballon d'Or were included so that they could choose the winner in an election. The winner was the Argentine Alfredo Di Stéfano in front of the second-placed Dutchman Johan Cruyff and the Frenchman Michel Platini in third.

The Stéfano was honored in recognition of his 26-year football career and as the only player to date with this award. He had already won the Ballon d'Or twice (1957, 1959) as an individual award for his footballing achievements.
