South Franconia

In contrast to Northern Franconia, southern Franconia means :

• a non-administrative geographic region that forms the southern part of the Bavarian administrative district of Middle Franconia, which actually belongs to Eastern Franconia (see district of Roth and district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen , which together also form the BRK district association of Southern Franconia - consisting of the former district associations of Roth-Schwabach and Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen - form)
• all of Middle Franconia in contrast to the Bavarian administrative districts of Upper Franconia and Lower Franconia
• the Baden-Württemberg region of Heilbronn-Franconia , also called South Rhine Franconia , which actually belongs to Eastern Franconia, not to Western Franconia (Rhine Franconia )
• the speakers of a dialect of Upper German or Upper Franconian , in the area between the Neckar and Main in Baden-Württemberg, see South Franconian
• Southern French, that group of French crusaders who came from the (once autonomous) southern part of the kingdom (Toulouse), for example Raymond IV of Toulouse . (From the point of view of their Muslim opponents, all French and German crusaders were just "Franks")
