The southern Blumberger Damm Bridge is a road bridge in the Berlin district of Biesdorf , which leads the Blumberger Damm over the Ostbahn in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district .

description

The southern Blumberger Damm bridge was built in 1987 and is located between Altentreptower Straße and Frankenholzer Weg. It runs over the track systems of Deutsche Bahn AG with two S-Bahn tracks and one long-distance train track. In addition to the tracks, the Wuhlgartenweg footpath and cycle path run parallel and two district heating pipes to the west of the bridge. Due to the poor condition of the bridge structure, a new replacement is required. Vattenfall relocated the district heating pipeline between February and October 2019 . The new pipe bridge, which was moved about 15 meters to the west for district heating, was used in the night from May 31 to June 1, 2019. Thereafter, from February 2021, the replacement of the bridge is to take place for around four years. Traffic should be maintained throughout the construction period.
