history

Südzucker BKK's roots can be traced back to 1847. At that time, the management of the Waghäusel sugar factory founded a health and support association, which had to provide the workers and their relatives with "the necessary help, food and special support" in the event of illness, death and accidents. The company gradually provided this association with a base of 40,000 guilders by providing shares in the annual results. The health and support association is the spiritual origin of the self-image of Südzucker BKK: the employees help each other in solidarity, the employer lives up to its social responsibility through financial help and support.
